Aaron Brooks Three Trees

Lancaster, PA - Forest Interiors, landscape paintings by Lancaster artist Aaron Brooks, are on display February 1 through 28 at Isadore Gallery.  Brooks combines his enjoyment of both art and nature by painting outdoors, directly from his subject. His paintings, although representational, show the forest as a complex, abstract network of colors, shapes and textures.

Most of the paintings are completed in one session over the course of an entire day.  The work reflects the progression of time and changes in light, rather than capturing one specific time of day as a photograph does.  This feeling of time adds depth and complexity to his already sophisticated paintings.

Isadore Gallery is located on 228 North Prince Street in downtown Lancaster. Gallery hours are from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm Thursday and Friday, and 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturday.  There will be an opening reception with the artist on First Friday, February 2, 2007 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm.  For directions or more information, visit www.isadore-gallery.com

MirĂ³ on Objects

"For me an object is something living. This cigarette or this box of matches contains a secret life much more intense than that of certain human beings."
